Pay for your hosting with Google Ads

There are no free handouts in business but Google's AdSense program comes pretty close.  If you are looking for an easy way to offset the cost of your hosting and domain registration fees then its for you.  I was reading an article is Business Week a couple of weeks ago about how 14 top bloggers earn money with their sites.   Most impressive was a picture of the owner of shoemoney.com holding a $130,000 check from Google.  If that won't inspire you to make interesting content then I don't know what will.  It takes less than 5 minutes to setup and it's really easy to add to your site.

First sign up with Google.  You can sign up by clicking here:  Google Adsense

During the setup process Google will give you a javascript code snippet to paste on your page somewhere.  If you're planning to use the ads on a Subtext blog it can be a little tricky figuring out where to paste the code.  You'll want to go inside your Skins directory and find the PageTemplate.ascx for the current skin your using. (ie: Skins/RedBook/PageTemplate.ascx)  If you want your ad bar at the bottom like this page just add your code the end of this file.

Google has a great user interface for keeping track of hits and will pay you monthly by either check or direct deposit.
